How I Spent My Summer Vacation, part 2

This is how I spent my summer vacation. Part two includes horses, midnight swimming, rock n roll, sunshine and good food.

Where did that last week go? I guess I spent it sleeping in, reading books, hanging out in the sunshine and going to the stable to ride and hang out with the horses.

 The Headlines at Debaser.

 At the beach.

Late night swim.

Pia and the horses.

 Coffee with Baby Darth.

 Delicious dumplings.

Salt Mama Bear and DJ Undertaker at Debaser.

 Chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast.

InkFashion Magazine, sunscreen and sunglasses.

We Call It Work

Sometimes we escape the office for an all day conference. But we rarely get to spend the day at a place like Ystad Saltsjöbad on a beautiful summer day.

And on the way there I ran into Jhonny Bratpack whom I haven't seen for ages. We were at the station and looking for a taxi when I thought I saw him and I was right. Jhonny is a taxi driver so he drove me and my colleagues to the conference.

We also ran into Jake from the Headlines at the station. Funny, you don't see people for ages and then you run into two of them at once.

Work meeting after a tough game of boule. And beer.

I splashed about in the water for so long my feet ached when they warmed up. Oh well.

Could It Be...

In this part of the world we live in darkness and cold during the winter. It's dark when I drag myself out of bed in the morning, it's dark when I brush my teeth and it seems like daylight doesn't show up until I'm waiting for my train in the freezing cold.

But this morning was different. I woke up early because I was warm, moved my pillow around and tried to get back to sleep. But the bedroom was much brighter than usual.
And the I realized... it was brighter because it was a bright, sunny day outside the bedroom window. The sun rose at 6.23 this morning. A month ago it rose at 7.32 and in January it rose at 8.24.

After all this cold and dark winter, there is finally hope that spring will come soon.

Where is Mike Herrera when you need him?

It's a lovely, sunny day outside and I'm stuck inside – chained to my computer. I had lunch outside but then I had to go back inside and update the website and moderate comments.
I feel like the girl in this video. The song is Wrecking Hotel Rooms by MxPx.

I just wish Mike Herrera would pull up in his tour bus so we could trash hotel rooms and go swimming...

Ah, sunshine on the balcony, a cup of tea and a book. What a way to chill after a hard day of work and fighting for a seat on the train.

The sun does funny things to my taste in music. During the past few days the likes of AFI, VNV Nation and Placebo have been replaced by Groovie Ghoulies, 20belows and A New Found Glory.

I have dug out my old sunglasses, my flip flops and worn my leather jacket for the first time this year. I'm even rocking a miniskirt today.

The song that really makes me smile right now is "Spanish Fever" by Chixdiggit. Singer/guitarist KJ Jansen is probably the most charismatic front man in pop punk. I hope they'll come back to Sweden next time they go on tour.
No go listen to them on youtube or myspace! And if you like what you hear, buy a cd.
