I made scones for breakfast, watched a great movie and went for a walk in the sunshine and icy winds with friends. I went to the gym, slept in and had a good late night talk with a friend. Got invited to a pancake brunch with sinful amounts of nutella and coffee. And I got an old song stuck in my head. Not necessarily in that order.

A Weekend in September
This weekend I put on my boots and went looking for chanterelles in the woods. And came back with enough for a delicious omelet with creamed chanterelles, white wine and parsley.
These two cars live out in the wood, within walking distance of delicious fungi. One of them is in better shape than the other, but they both need a lot of TLC.
Another day, another place to be. I did my part for democracy and voted, then I headed to a birthday party. Twins Alex and Philip celebrated their 8th birthday with cake, candy and pirate lego.
More android phone photos from the weekend can be found on flickr.
Chanterelles, are you here?

A roadster, a coupe and a child with weird eyes.

Two weekends in the woods
I've spent the past two weekends in Smålands woods. Last weekend was spent at Hultsfred Hayride with the HepCat Store. I took a road trip with Rob and we stopped by Hanna's house in Växjö.
We went to the lovely Kafe Deluxe for some beers and swing music and rode our borrowed bikes through the beautiful summer night. Mosquitoes included.
Hanna is truly a hostess with the mostess. She served us fresh strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast. Check out the Saint 21 blog for more on Hultsfred Hayride.
But the weekend before that, Midsummers Eve, was spent at our house outside Ljungby. We ordered a container and spent three days cleaning out the kitchen and one of the living rooms. We emptied the rooms completely, cleaned them and sorted all the stuff in the yard. We cleaned everything that we wanted to keep before taking it back into the house. The rest went in the container, often with satisfying sounds like "crash", "clank" and "boom". The kitchen alone took a day and a half to sort out. But we got rid of a lot of junk and all traces of mice.
My paternal grandparents on their wedding day in 1943.
Black and white photo that has been coloured by hand.
We found some good things too, like the photo above. We kept the stuff we really liked and put the rest in boxes to give to charity.
I didn't think that we could fill an entire container over the weekend, but we did. We threw out almost everything that the mice had been at. And one dead mouse that we found in the back of a kitchen unit.
But it wasn't all work. We visited grandma and her kittens too. Kittens rule.

Everything Happens At Once
I have been so busy that I've barely had time to sleep. It's seems everything is happening at once. This weekend it was the Gothenburg book fair and a release party in Copenhagen for J.Tex latest album.
Book fair, anyone?
I haven't had time to check the photos I took at J.Tex release party on Saturday but if they're good I'll post them later. I was exhausted after a long day but I still had a good time and I sold a lot of vinyl.
We gave Andi Almqvist a ride to the release party in Copenhagen and he couldn't stop talking about his new album that has just been finished. I think he had a slight case of post-creation mania. His album "Glimmer" will be released in about a month.
On Sunday I was visiting friends in the countryside, enjoying some fresh air and home cooked food. Victor, who will be five this December, showed his skills on his 4 wheeler. That thing is pretty fast, it does somewhere around 50 km per hour.
But at least there's time to rest now that the weekend is over? Ha!
Adam Dorsett is in town for the Tattoo Expo in Malmö this weekend and things are never quiet when he is around.
And AFI and Paramore are releasing their new albums today. Crash Love by AFI and Brand New Eyes by Paramore are avaliable on Spotify.
I'm gonna head over to Interpunk and order them right now.

Monday, February 11
My body refused to get out of bed on time, I couldn't find my gloves as I was leaving for work and I didn't finish all the things I hoped to get done this weekend. It's Monday, and it's back with a vengeance.
Last Saturday I spent a few hours jumping around on a vacant industrial lot. For once I did the goofing around, aka modelling, so my friend Nils was behind the camera.
Or cameras I should say, because we used both my Nikon and Nils' Canon. I guess we looked a bit suspicious as we casually sneaked through the fence with two camera bags and a ladder.
Unfortunately Nils' computer is feeling a bit under the weather so I won't see the pictures we took with his camera for another week or so. Bummer.
"Eye of the Tiger", anyone? I'm doing my best Rocky Balboa impression here, punching air and jumping up and down.

I like the photo Jade of Shy Boys
Win has on his blog, so I told Nils I wanted to do something similar, thus the ladder.
Win has on his blog, so I told Nils I wanted to do something similar, thus the ladder. The industrial lot is full of debris, mainly from the homeless people who used to live there, so walking on stilts was out of the question.
But there is a lot of nice graffiti, an old skateboard ramp (complete with rainwater, a chair leg and an orange womens shoe) and a crumbling wall for me to climb, so Nils did a fine job when scouting for a location.
There is also a lot of old cables, tires and garbage. I stepped on what I thought was a cardboard box, but then it went "squish" under my foot. It was decomposing garbage. Yuck.
